INTERIOR DESIGNER TO BRAND AND WEB DESIGNER

If someone would have told me that I would go from an interior designer to a website designer, I wouldn’t have believed them. I was a London-based interior designer with a new design brief for a zero-waste store. My clients asked me to also design their brand and website. “We would like you to creatively direct the whole thing”. My first thought was….no, I can’t do that, but of course, I said yes. With degrees in business and design, a design blog, an interior design business, a design store and a new baby, I really had my hands full.  Many years of experience with illustration and creative software applications had equipped me from a technical standpoint, and, design is design. But, I was not ready for this.

I womaned up

I womaned up and embraced this new challenge that had fallen into my lap. The design of a minimally designed zero-waste store was underway in West London. I also crafted their branding and built their online store. It was a huge success. Fast forward a few years and many brand and website projects later, I have fallen into a beautiful niche. I can honestly say that I am now working with my dream clients and that’s everything. When, as designers, we are aligned with the right business niche – it creates a powerful outcome. I can honestly say that so many of my clients have become friends. Wellness and interior design websites are a perfect match for me, but also work with lots of fashion and lifestyle brands. I spend my days working in my studio with small business owners whose heart is at the core of their business. My clients are truly passionate about their offerings. When you create a brand and website that your client and subsequently their clients fall in love with, it’s quite honestly magic.
